Tell Someone
How to play
A secret, a guess, and a story that travels. For players aged 16 and over.
The idea
Knowing the person who started the secret—and the people who passed it on—is your best clue. Compare the message with what you know about them: who might tell the truth, pass it on unchanged or alter it? Each handover can make the message a less reliable clue.
To start, write a short statement about yourself or a fictional character. Privately declare it True or False, then share its invitation link widely. The first three eligible people to claim it get a place. You can edit your original only until the first person opens it.
Receive, ask, guess
Open a received secret in Inbox. Before guessing, you may send up to three question messages to the person who sent it to you. They may answer, bluff or leave you wondering; you don’t have to wait.
Choose True or False. Your guess is private and cannot be changed. Guess before passing the secret on or keeping it.
Pass it on or keep it
Pass the words exactly as received, or change them before sharing a new invitation. Each invitation again has room for the first three eligible claimants. You cannot pass it directly back to the person who sent it to you.
Keep It To Myself ends your path, not everyone else’s. A later invitation that reaches the original sender also ends that path; they do not guess on their own secret.
Follow the journey
My Secrets shows the stories you started. Inbox holds the ones you received. Open a story to follow its progress and the part of its journey you’re allowed to see.
If you started the secret, review changed wording as Close enough or Changed. That describes the retelling; it never changes anyone’s guess result.
Watch the clock
An invitation lasts 24 hours. Open it in time and you get a fresh 24 hours to finish your turn, including questions. New invitations can be created for seven days after the secret starts; existing invitations and turns keep their own deadlines.
See the result
The reveal comes when every path has ended and all required wording reviews are complete. Your guess is compared with the original sender’s declared answer, even if the words changed. Tell Someone does not decide real-world truth.
If wording reviews remain after the last path ends, the original sender has up to 24 hours to finish them. Otherwise the game ends without a result.
