Community and Safety Rules

These rules apply to statements, retellings, questions, answers, guesses, profiles, reports, complaints and support interactions.

The game boundary

Play with something about yourself or something clearly fictional that does not identify a real third person. Do not disguise a real person as fiction by giving enough details to identify them.

Do not use Tell Someone for

Bullying, harassment, stalking, intimidation or pile-ons; threats, violence instructions or support for terrorism; sexual exploitation, grooming or sexual content involving anyone under 18; intimate-image abuse or sexual extortion; doxxing or unauthorised disclosure of sensitive personal data; hate or dehumanising abuse; self-harm encouragement; impersonation or account takeover; scams, phishing, malware or credential theft; illegal goods, services or offence-facilitating instructions; block or ban evasion; malicious reports; or attacks, scraping and overload.

What automatic checks mean

Tell Someone uses narrow, high-confidence checks to reduce exposure to clear must-prevent material. If no rule is positively established, ordinary play proceeds. An automatic allow result is not a statement that content is harmless, true or endorsed. Context that automation cannot establish belongs with report, block, containment and human review.

Reporting and blocking

Report the exact item or immediate profile you encountered using the closest structured reason. Blocking the immediate route participant is a separate action and stops future interaction through that route. Do not paste private content into ordinary support email.

Consequences and appeals

Depending on evidence, seriousness, age and law, Tell Someone may stop a route, preserve evidence, make content unavailable, warn, restrict or terminate an account, or refer a matter to a competent authority. A material decision can be challenged through the available complaint or appeal route. Reports do not guarantee a particular outcome.

Immediate danger

Tell Someone is not an emergency service and does not promise live monitoring. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate specialist service.
